At Moriarty Watches, every timepiece is a reflection of tradition, craftsmanship, and artistic intent. In her atelier Swiss-trained independent watchmaker Alison Moriarty specialises in bespoke watches that celebrate the heritage of horology while embracing individuality.
From dial design to assembly, each watch is crafted in-house in County Clare, Ireland. The results are one-of-a-kind works of mechanical art - created slowly, purposefully, and with uncompromising attention to detail.
Watchmaker
As one of the youngest graduates of the prestigious WOSTEP Academy of Watchmaking in Switzerland at the tender age of just twenty-one, Alison’s first calling has always been in the tiny mechanisms which beat within her watches.
While each and every one of her creations is defined by its captivating aesthetics, it’s the uncompromising standards and precision of the mechanism within that combines beauty of a Moriarty watch with reliability.
Using her extensive expertise of horology, each Moriarty movement is rigorously tested through six positions and adjusted to chronometer standards of accuracy and precision.
Enamelist
Alison Moriarty’s signature is the age-old technique of grand feu enamelling, a process as demanding as its results are beautiful. The dials are hand-painted with powdered glass and fired in a kiln at over 800°C - multiple times - to achieve their rich colour, lustre, and depth. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just patience and precision.
Inspired by Ireland’s shifting landscapes and elemental beauty, each enamel dial evokes a distinct mood—whether it’s the emerald glow of Hibernia, the shimmer of Blue Midnight, or the quiet serenity of Winter’s Night.
In fact, with years of experience working with the materials and processes, Alison has worked with a kaleidoscopic range of colours and effects, and so when it comes to what is possible in the spectrum of grand feu enamel, the only limit is your imagination.
